Plack
a quick switcher for quick people
Plack is a fast, intuitive, native macOS app switcher, letting you get to most apps in under two keypresses. Hold the Right Command key to bring up the launcher, type the first letter of an app to narrow down your options, and then press another letter to get to that app. (After a few tries you'll realize it's pretty intuitive!)
Features
- Press and hold the Right Command key to bring up the fan (keep holding it!). Press the first letter of an app to narrow it down to apps starting with that letter, then press an app's second key to open that app.
- Just press Right Command + the first letter of an app to quickly most recently opened app starting with that letter!
- Press and hold the Right Command key to bring up a fan. Press the key of an app in the fan and then let go of Right Command to open that app.
- Press and hold the Right Command key to bring up the fan. Press the first letter of an app to narrow it down, then keep pressing that key to shift the focus to the app you want. To launch the choice, just let go of Right Command.
- Press and hold the Right Command key to bring up the fan. Then just hit tab a few times to get to the app you want and let go.
- Press and hold Right Command + the first letter of an app to go straight to the most recent app of that letter, and open a fan of alternatives in case it wasn't the right one.
- Press and hold Right Command + Right Option + letter while an app is focused to save that app to the letter. Pressing Right Command + that letter will only open that app from then on, and even launch the app if it isn't already open. I suggest binding apps to more uncommon letters to keep the common ones free for the switcher.
- There's mouse support too. Personally though I don't use it very often. Just hover over your option and let go of Right Command.
Requirements
